Z Week
For Anni's birthday, she got an "animal adventure painting kit". Which, of course, translated into a zoo for Z Week! WE MADE IT! Phew. It was a good wrap up to the year, and she was completely intent on painting for quite awhile, even after her buddy had lost interest. Her little "zoo" lives on our front window ledge now, and it's a good reminder that we made it through a whole year of school. Our only plan for this summer is to work through this book (Anni has been begging to learn how to read). Happy end of the year, my friends.

Y Week
Here we have our yo-go, Y block, yak, and yellow paint representing Y for Y week. One craft I have no photos of for some reason, but it was simply a painted coloring page of "Yahweh". The other, was manipulating yarn into a "y" shape.
Happy Y Week!

X Week
Continuing in the hopes of wrapping up our schooling posts from last year, X Week! Our Saint of the week was St. Francis Xavier.
Our grab bag had a xylophone and an x-ray fish (hey, I thought we were doing pretty well with two things for x!)
I really liked our crafts this week. They were simple enough that I prepped the pieces for her, and then she was able to do all of the gluing/placing. The first was a little xylophone on an x:
The second was an x-ray of her hand. We traced her hand and then used q-tips to make the "bones". She liked this one so much she asked to make a second one.
Happy X Week!
W Week
It's true, these are from over a month ago (we finished school up before we started all of our crazy traveling), but that definitely mean I had time to get them all edited and posted... sooo oi-la! W week had St. Wenceslaus as our Saint of the week (good Czech Saint!) and we had some awesome books. Daniel's favorite was Diary of a Wombat; which, may or may not be in my amazon shopping cart currently to possibly bring on our upcoming California trip. The book in the back with only a partial title is "This is the Wind."
Our first craft was making a world:
We technically had the wrong kind of paint for this (water colors would have blended better), but Anni didn't mind, and she had a lot of fun, so we painted our world up in blues, greens and browns, and then splashed a little water to help it blend together:
Our grab bag was all kinds of random, but it worked. We had: a "W", a wallet, a washcloth, a whistle, and a watch.
Our second (super cute) craft was this watermelon "W". It was fun seeing how far some of Anni's crafting skills have come as she glued things on with only an extra swipe here and there from me.
Happy W Week!

V Week
Whew! I have been super slacking on these letter of the week posts. Well, we've also been lagging a bit in school, so, I guess it makes sense. This is from a few weeks ago, so unfortunately, my memory is lacking a bit (I feel like we did another craft, but no photos, so, no blogging if it did happen)! Anyway, we got a few books from the library, and probably read the Vera books 10 times a day, no exaggeration. She just adored them, and asked the same questions on each page, each time.
Then, we made some Vatican flags! This was a great chance to talk about the Vatican and the Pope. Always a plus! I (attempted) to draw the basic design on it for her, and she colored it in and glued it to a popsicle stick for easy waving. Oi-la!

U Week
Our U week craft was an umbrella! Anni colored and painted a coffee filter (it probably would have glued down better if I had just cut it in half instead of folding but, she didn't mind, so it was fine). After gluing on some fluffly "clouds", she glued down her umbrella and then added a "u" shaped handle. She thought it was pretty great!

T Week
Our T week craft was a trinity triangle. It was nice that it was relatively simple as the girls could do just about everything for themselves (we wrote the names of each person of the trinity on their respective side). We like to get a little creative with painting apparatuses, and the cotton balls were perfect for little fingers painting popsicle sticks.
If you want to hear something funny; though, listen to me try to explain the Trinity. Thank goodness there was a good, simple, explanation in my book.

S Week
S week! In our grab bag we had a seal, star, s block, spoon and, Anni's favorite, stickers (because she got one every time we pulled it out!)
Our craft was this cute hand print spider... the only kind of spider I can enjoy!

R Week
Because I'm a few weeks behind on blogging our letter of the week adventures, I don't remember all the details (because, silly me, forgot to take photos of the things in our grab bag!) This week, all I've got to show are two of our crafts. For the rocket craft, I laid everything out, handed her the glue and let her glue it back together. Hers definitely has more spunk than mine did. She also wrote her own name on the letters... big moment! She now writes it everywhere... especially if there's chalk handy and it's warm enough to go draw on our back patio!
