Whew! I have been super slacking on these letter of the week posts. Well, we've also been lagging a bit in school, so, I guess it makes sense. This is from a few weeks ago, so unfortunately, my memory is lacking a bit (I feel like we did another craft, but no photos, so, no blogging if it did happen)! Anyway, we got a few books from the library, and probably read the Vera books 10 times a day, no exaggeration. She just adored them, and asked the same questions on each page, each time.
Then, we made some Vatican flags! This was a great chance to talk about the Vatican and the Pope. Always a plus! I (attempted) to draw the basic design on it for her, and she colored it in and glued it to a popsicle stick for easy waving. Oi-la!

We've gotten a little lack-luster with our preschool around here. We are on V. Going to make a concerted effort to push through to Z, even if all it amounts to is having letter-themed books from the library the next 5ish wks.
ReplyDeleteI actually think we will just do letter-of-the-week again next year, plus I have some handwriting stuff I'd like to cover with Kolbe. You?
I'm so glad to hear someone else say they've gotten a little burnt out at the end of the year ;-). We actually did manage to finish with "Z" today (we did Y and Z in the same week since we start a lot of traveling tomorrow... to Wichita to start!)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what we're going to do. Anni is begging to learn how to read, so we're going to dip a toe into that and see if she wants to keep it up this summer. I *think* we'll just stick with letter-of-the-week again next year, maybe just adding in some more writing and slightly more complicated ideas?
