Family (Number Two) and St. Paddy's Day
The second round of visitors arrived just in time for the loveliest of St. Patrick's Days. There was much cuddling of the tiny one by professional big sister, Z. For serious, she is pretty amazing.
In fact, Miss Mlada was well cuddled this week. Aunt Kaikee is a professional baby snuggler, so life was pretty good.
Because I was still in the midst of the crazy cold/laryngitis and Anni still had school, my sister and her family would go on adventures and then come hang out in between. There was quilting, running in snow, and a whole lot of a darling little boy fixing the house up once he discovered Colette's tool box.
And of course, there was a certain little lady's baptism anniversary. Life is good, my friends, life is good.

St. Patrick's Day and a Baptism Anniversary
St. Patrick's Day was definitely not what I had planned this year. Colette spent at least half of the night previous throwing up (or rather, trying desperately not to throw up, and forcefully shoving the bowl away with a, "NO. I don't WANT it") so my plans to make Bangers and Mash again this year got put on hold. And these, this was the one of the few photos we nabbed. Anni cheerfully smiled for the photo, and Colette mostly just wanted to crawl back onto the couch with the ipad so that she could forget that Mommy wouldn't let her eat all the things she wanted. Let's be honest, that shouldn't even be an argument after the night she had, so we quickly moved onto the ipad (yes, they gave up screen time for Lent. Yes, grand distraction defeats Lenten resolution when you're two and sick.)
Today was also Colette's baptism anniversary. While this usually includes her pick of a meal and a fun dessert... tonight it included plain noodles with a sprinkle of cheese, "Happy Baptism Anniversary to You" and blowing out her baptism candle. She was satisfied, and I won't mention that I snuck some of the frozen chocolate chip cookie cake out of the freezer while the girls weren't looking.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, even if it wasn't the way you envisioned it.

St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of all kinds of things for us. The truth is, as far as we know, we aren't very Irish. St. Patrick wasn't either, so it doesn't bother me too much. So, get some fun green clothes, throw in a Baptism anniversary, and a dash of reminiscing about our trip to Ireland two years ago, and oi-la! Our day :).
A happy Baptism day to Miss Lettie! Usually, she would get to pick dinner; however, as long as it includes meat, our little carnivore is happy. Therefore, it included meat.
Lettie fit in the same outfit Anni wore on her first St. Patrick's Day. Annnnd Anni wore the one and only green shirt she had, and was still super duper adorable. Oh, how I love my wee ones!
As I mentioned, Colette just needs meat to be really happy with her dinner. And my Daniel? Well, he never, ever complains about a meal, so when I can make something I know he'll love, it's definitely a plus. I decided to make a stab at making bangers and mash in hopes that they would bring back some yummy memories from our trip to Ireland (and, in case you're curious, they were delicious! Anni said, "All my sausages taste like Ireland!")
Then there was the tradition of lighting and blowing out Lettie's candle (which she thought was pretty awesome).
Happy St. Paddy's Day, my friends! I hope it was as lovely as ours!
